Your automobile will not have coverage if you don’t pay the bill

One of the most faqs we get on a daily basis is “how long will my coverage continue if I can’t or don’t make my monthly payment?”. First I look at this and wander why would you put yourself in this situation to begin with. I know things come up and it is hard to pay all of your bills on time in tough financial situations. But why are you asking that question to anyone? You need to be in contact with your insurance company first thing as soon as you know your payment can’t be made on time. If you do this you have a better opportunity to work out a payment plan or having the insurance company delay canceling your insurance policy until you can pay. There is nothing more frustrating in billing than having a customer not make a payment and vanish or unable to contact a customer regarding payment. Sometimes it seems we get lazy or avoid our problems hoping they will go away or we can delay them long enough until we can make the payment. This is wrong, most companies will cancel your insurance faster if they can’t contact or don’t hear from you. This is why it is so important to make arrangements with your insurance company asap. If you don’t pay the bill you won’t get coverage. If you get pulled over without insurance you will get fined and maybe loose your drivers license. Also your car could be sent back to the finance company if they require you to keep insurance while paying it out. Even worse you could really put another fellow driver in a bad situation including yourself if you have an accident without coverage. If you believe in Karma it always seems to come in effect the first days you don’t have insurance. You could have maintained coverage for 10 or more years and the one day you go with out insurance you get a ticket or in have an accident. So be cautious and don’t let your coverage lapse you may even have lower rates in the future because of the continuous coverage and outstanding payment history.
