Record company profits for oil companies. We are paying for it at the pump.

I thought the hurricanes, weather, war and oil demand were the reason for fuel going up last year. We did not have any major hurricanes this year, oil prices have dropped, demand is not as high in the winter and the weather for the most part has been great. So why are gas prices still way over $2.00 per gallon?
Let me guess, the oil companies need to set more record profits. Last year every consumer and most companies in America had to pay for very high fuel prices and deal with these tragic events except for the big oil companies. Some of these oil companies not only set record profits for them, but they set the biggest profits in the history of America. How big is this? America has been in existance for more than 228 years and they’ve recorded the biggest profits by any sector in a years time.
Did they invent something we can all use or create a miracle drug to do this? No, they just did business as usual. Does this seem fair to consumers? Consumers had to suffer due to events out of our control and the big oil companies made sure we suffered even more to pay for their big profits. With these tragic events, it almost seems like an excuse for oil companies to record enourmous profits.
If the oil companies earned all this money and profits without charging us extra per gallon or barrel of oil then they deserve everything. But if they charged us more per gallon for handling or just to get more profits something is very wrong. What would be the difference in a gas station owner charging $4.00 per gallon just for price gouging?

[…] So why the big difference in gas prices? The only thing that makes sense would be location. In town they have to compete against several other stores. The store off the hwy. doesn’t have hardley any stores nearby. So they feel the need to charge you more just becuase they can. This is simply for profit. Now that is hwy. robbery! Even a 20 oz. coke cost 0.20 more. This sounds a lot like the big oil companies recording record profits for no reason. […]
