Paying Bills via Telephone
Posted by: info | January 24, 2007
Many companies including some electric, mortgage, phone, gas and cable companies now charge a fee to pay your bill by telephone. What kind of garbage is this?
These fees can cost up to an extra $10 per month to pay over the telephone. A lot of companies say that is cost of telephone banking. Or they may insist the fees are because they use a thrid party service. Tough!
They should take the money from the huge profits they are taking in from consumers. All other business have to pay extra for services to offer convenience to their customers. These companies take the money out of the profits they are charging customers. Many businesses accept payments over the phone and don’t charge any fees. They don’t seem to be losing any money.
These fees can add up quickly. If you don’t watch out you may end up paying the cost of another bull just in fees. So if you can avoid them please do. I know that telephone bill paying is nice and probably the fastest form of payment but the fees can take hard earned money away from you.
