Avoid Buying a Car with no Title

Everyday many Americans buy vehicles with no title. They are so eager to get the new car, truck or whatever they drive the car off with no title in hand. The truth is that buying a car with no title or putting off the title transfer can come back to haunt you. Here are some of the common reasons people purchase a car with no title.
People selling vehicles offer up some crazy excuses for not having a title. As a potential vehicle owner you should never fall for any excuse, there is no reason for the owner not to have and sign the title over to you at time of purchase. Don’t ever buy a car without a title. Here are some of the most common reasons a vehicle owner might come up with.
- You can file for a lost title; This is very wrong and you will have to go through a lot of trouble trying to get the required signatures or research to get the title.
- I will sell the vehicle cheaper without the title; This is not good either since you will not be a car owner without the title.
- I will get the title to you later; Not acceptable, they can get off their buts and find it, you will not want to keep hounding or bothering them on a daily basis to get around to it.
- The title isn’t in my name; Well this is not the vehicle owner then. No title no sale.
- The title is tore up; They need to go file for a new one. Even though this will prolong the sale, if the registration office can’t read or use it, then you will have trouble.
No matter what their reason for not having the title is, the reason or excuse is not good enough. Trust me, you don’t want to hunt people down or others you don’t even know to get the required signatures for the title. They will have to get a bill of sale for you or go to the tag office with you to get the title in your name. Some of these people haven’t owned the cars for years. The last thing the want to do is waste any more time on it. Don’t even consider purchasing any vehicle without the proper paperwork. You will save yourself a lot of time, trouble and possible losses if you make sure the right paperwork is provided at the time of sale.
